Founder
Lamar Bigby
Former Runnin’ Rebel Lamar Bigby founded the program in 2009 with a clear mission: to create a safe, structured environment where young athletes could develop their basketball skills and grow as individuals. He built the program on core values of accountability, hard work, commitment, and tough love.
The result was a blue-collar team of underappreciated talent that quickly rose to compete at the highest levels of AAU basketball. Over the years, the program has earned sponsorships from Asics, Reebok, Adidas, New Balance, and its current sponsor, Puma. Through it all, Lamar has mentored and guided countless young men and women across the Las Vegas Valley and beyond.
Academy Director
Dinard Taylor
Dinard Taylor is a Las Vegas native whose lifelong passion for basketball led him to Tarkanian Basketball Academy. In high school, he played for the state champion Bishop Gorman Gaels, earning All-State honors. He continued his playing career at Sheridan College and Columbus State University.
Following his playing career in 2004, Dinard transitioned into coaching. Since then, he has led clinics and camps and has coached at the 17U level for one of the most decorated grassroots programs on the West Coast, the Las Vegas Knicks. With over two decades of experience and knowledge, Dinard is well equipped to lead an academy focused on building a strong basketball foundation for youth athletes.
Coach
Brian Williams
Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Coach Williams brings nearly 20 years of coaching experience to the program.
Before joining the Las Vegas Knicks organization seven years ago, Coach Williams served as a skills development coach with the Adidas Nations grassroots program, coached AAU for the Tarkanian Rebels, and worked with NBA Europe as a broadcast consultant. He also became a USA Basketball Certified Coach in 2015.
Coach
Andre Toomians
Andre Toomians is the newest member of our staff. Born in Los Angeles and raised in Las Vegas, Andre developed his love for basketball early on, inspired by the Lakers and Kobe Bryant. He graduated from UNLV with a degree in kinesiology and brings an innovative, modern approach to athletic development, with a focus on body movement and injury prevention for our young athletes.
Coach
Marcus Falley
Marcus Falley put together an impressive high school and prep career highlighted by elite scoring and major honors. During his senior season at Durango High School (2008–2009), he averaged 25.4 points per game and earned multiple accolades, including Sunset All-Region Team, 1st Team All Southwest Division, 1st Team All-Region, and 2nd Team All-State recognition. The following year (2009–2010), he completed a prep year at nationally ranked Mt. Zion, where he averaged 21.6 points per game, was named Cannon Classic All-Tournament, earned National Prep Tournament MVP honors, and was also selected as Team MVP. He later played with The U.S. Basketball Academy, competing against professional teams from Australia, where he averaged 29.2 points per game and recorded a game-high 36 points.
